A Cuban-inspired nightlife interior design project in Shanghai.
For the Shanghai location of La Bodeguita del Medio, Valecasa designed and furnished a bar concept that introduces a rare Havana-inspired atmosphere to the city’s nightlife scene. While Shanghai is known for its diverse hospitality venues, authentic Cuban cultural references are uncommon, making the project a distinctive addition to the local bar landscape.
Our scope included the full interior layout and custom furniture production, from built-in bar structures to loose seating and detailed joinery. Bold colors, layered textures, and vintage references draw from Havana’s visual language while being adapted to the scale and energy of a contemporary Shanghai venue.
The result is a vibrant hospitality interior that stands apart within Shanghai’s nightlife culture, combining Cuban character with durable, high-capacity bar design.
